How to Play Texas Holdem Poker Online?
Pre-Flop
In the beginning, two cards are dealt face down to each player on the table; these cards are also known as pocket cards. This is followed by a round of betting. In Texas Holdem poker online, the betting begins with small bling, to the left of the dealer, that is followed by a big blind. These are forced bets that must be placed before seeing one's cards. The play runs clockwise starting from the blinds, with each player having the option to call, raise, or fold. The blinds are live, which means they may raise in quantity when the action gets back around to them.
In the case where only two players are in the game, the dealer posts the small blind and the other player places the big blind. The action comes back to the small blind, who needs to make his/her move based on the strength of the cards in order to continue the betting.
The Flop, The Turn, and The River
Again, the next three cards are dealt face-up in the middle of the table, this is known as the flop. This is followed by a round of betting, with action starting from the first blind, i.e. immediately left to the dealer's position. Another card is dealt face-up, known as the turn, followed by another round of betting, again beginning to the dealer's left. Then, the final community card, known as the river is dealt, followed by the final round of betting.
Texas Holdem poker online is played for high cards only, each player needs to make the best five-card combination in order to win the pot. Players may or may not use both of their private or pocket cards to make their best hand. A player may even use all five community cards on the table and use no pocket cards at all.
